BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Today is February 1, 2022 and the start of Black History Month.  Regardless of who you are, we strongly consider your celebrating Black History Month.

“Black History Month is an annual observance originating in the United States, where it is also known as African American History Month. It has received official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland, and the United Kingdom” (Wikipedia).

In regard to architecture, note the following fact:

Less than 2% of the approximately 113,000 architects currently licensed in the United States are African American. But thanks to the Black Lives Matter movement, their visibility is on the rise. (Source: https://www.dandelionchandelier.com/2020/07/27/top-black-architects/)
